Belinda Collis - Principal

Belinda

belinda@chaplinsstageschool.co.uk

Belinda was born into show business and before she could even walk she appeared at the Lyceum Theatre, aged just 3. Her father, Lincoln Lee, was a bandleader and saxophone player and Theatre was clearly in the blood.

At the age of 8, Belinda appeared on television in Junior Showtime, with other young performers such as Shane Ritchie and Bonnie Langford. By the age of 9 she was touring the clubs, both UK and abroad, together with her three sisters. She toured extensively with many leading artists, including Englebert Humperdinck, Frank Carson, Jim Davidson and Bob Monkhouse.

But Belinda long held ambitions to work with children. She achieved that dream in 1986, when together with her late husband, Ronnie Collis, she began Chaplins Stage School. The school has provided training in stagecraft, singing and dancing to hundreds of youngsters from the ages of 4 to 21 years ever since.

And the rest, as they say, "is history"!!
